About

Wavelace is a place to play with formulas and watch them move. I made it to learn, and to have fun doing it.

Why it exists

I love maths, even if I understand probably less than one percent of it. I follow people who share formulas and beautiful shapes all the time, and I kept wishing they were all in one place, where I could change a number and see what happens.

There are wonderful tools for this already, Desmos among them. I wanted something smaller: open it, pick a preset, drag a dial. So Wavelace has no accounts and nothing to install. Every preset comes with a short note on what it draws and why, a few things to try, and where to read more.

A personal project

Wavelace is mine, made in my own time, for learning and for play. There are no ads, and nothing here is for sale.

About the notes

I write the notes with care and check the numbers in them, but I am learning too. Read them as a starting point rather than a reference. If you spot a mistake, I would love to hear about it: info@wavelace.com.

How it is made

For the curious: Wavelace is one page of plain JavaScript, with no framework and no dependencies. Everything is drawn in your browser, the formula you type never leaves it, and a link to a plot carries the whole plot in its address. The server only serves the pages and keeps the anonymous counts the privacy page describes.
